Clock distribution for mixed-voltage systems
The LMH2180SDE/NOPB is a single-circuit fanout buffer that takes one clock input and drives two clock outputs, with a maximum frequency of 75 MHz. Its supply voltage spans 2.4V to 5V, so it can sit on a 3.3V or 5V rail and buffer a crystal or oscillator output without needing a separate level translator. The 2:2 ratio means both outputs are copies of the input — no inversion or division.
The 8-WSON package (3x3 mm) with exposed pad helps conduct heat to the PCB ground plane — the pad should be soldered to a thermal land on the board. The input and output are single-ended, not differential, so it works with LVCMOS or LVTTL clock sources.
