The LMD18201T is a fully integrated H-bridge motor driver from Texas Instruments, combining the control logic and power stage in a single TO-220-11 package. It drives one brushed DC motor or one phase of a bipolar stepper motor at up to 3A continuous from a 12V to 55V supply rail. The parallel logic interface accepts direction, brake, and PWM inputs directly from a microcontroller or motion controller. Built on a Bi-CMOS/DMOS process, it integrates shoot-through protection and thermal shutdown — no external catch diodes or charge pump needed for most applications.
3A continuous output — sizing the load
The 3A continuous rating sets the practical motor current limit.
Industrial temperature grade and environment
The wide supply range (12V to 55V) covers common industrial rails — 12V automotive, 24V PLC power, and 48V servo buses — without needing a separate regulator for the driver logic.
