Precision quad CMOS op-amp for high-impedance signal chains
Its standout feature is the 0.01 pA typical input bias current — three orders of magnitude lower than a general-purpose bipolar op-amp — making it the natural choice for photodiode transimpedance amplifiers, pH probe buffers, and other high-source-impedance sensor interfaces where leakage current would corrupt the measurement. With a gain-bandwidth product of 1.3 MHz and a 1.5 V/µs slew rate, this part handles audio-frequency signal conditioning, active filters, and slow ADC drivers. The 150 µV input offset voltage keeps DC accuracy tight without external trimming, and the supply range of 4.5 V to 15.5 V covers both 5 V and 12 V industrial rails.
Each of the four amplifiers draws 2.2 mA supply current, totalling 8.8 mA for the package. That is modest for a quad precision part and keeps the thermal rise low in the PDIP package — no heatsinking needed.
Package and mounting — through-hole for prototyping and legacy sockets
The LMC6084IN comes in a 14-DIP (0.300", 7.62 mm) through-hole package, also specified as the 14-PDIP supplier device package. This form factor is ideal for breadboard prototyping, socketed production boards, and hand-assembly runs where surface-mount reflow is not available. The 0.100" pin pitch and 0.300" row spacing are standard for DIP sockets. Mounting type is through hole only — no surface-mount variant is listed for this order code.
RoHS note — verify assembly compliance
The LMC6084IN is listed as RoHS non-compliant. If your assembly line requires RoHS-compliant materials, confirm the exemption or look for an alternative suffix. The lead (Pb) content in the PDIP package may affect solderability and waste-handling documentation in certain jurisdictions.
