Local/remote sensing with SMBus interface

This is a digital temperature sensor that monitors both its own die temperature (local) and an external diode-connected transistor (remote), outputting readings over an SMBus serial interface. Local resolution is 9 bits; the remote channel resolves to 10 bits, which yields a finer temperature step for the external sense point. Accuracy is specified at ±3°C across the 0°C to 85°C test range — adequate for thermal management and over-temperature protection in computing, telecom, and industrial equipment.
