150 mA LDO with 45 µA quiescent — the battery-life anchor
The LM9076BMA-5.0 is a 150 mA low-dropout regulator from Texas Instruments, fixed 5 V output, in an 8-SOIC package.
Wide-VIN survival and dropout headroom
Rated for 40 V max input, the LM9076BMA-5.0 starts from a cold-crank 12 V battery dipped to 4.5 V and survives a load-dump transient without an external clamp — the internal pass FET's abs-max rating covers the surge. Dropout is 0.25 V max at 150 mA, meaning the headroom between the input rail and the 5 V output must stay above 250 mV across the full load range, or the output falls out of regulation. PSRR is 60 dB at 120 kHz — upstream switching noise from a pre-regulator buck converter above that frequency passes through unless filtered ahead of the LDO. The Enable and Reset control features let the system sequence the rail on startup and supervise the output for brown-out conditions.
Active lifecycle — no end-of-life watch
This part is suitable for new designs without a near-term migration plan.
