N+1 ORing controller for automotive power rail redundancy
The Texas Instruments LM74700QDBVRQ1 is an N+1 ORing controller designed to drive an external N-channel MOSFET for reverse-current blocking and supply rail ORing in automotive systems.
Wide supply range and fast timing
The controller operates from a 3.2V to 65V supply, covering 12V and 24V automotive buses with margin for load-dump transients. Turn-on delay is 1.4 µs and turn-off delay is 450 ns, fast enough to prevent reverse current during supply switchover in redundant power architectures.
External FET required — no internal switch
The LM74700QDBVRQ1 does not include an internal FET; it drives an external N-channel MOSFET. The gate drive is rated for up to 5A output current, sized for the external FET's gate charge. The 1:1 input-to-output ratio means one controller per ORing channel.
SOT-23-6 package and mounting
Housed in a 6-pin SOT-23-6 package (supplier device package SOT-23-6), surface-mount only. The compact footprint suits space-constrained ECU boards.
The base product number is LM74700.
