What the 1.35 µA quiescent current means for your power budget
The LM66200DRLR draws 1.35 µA from the supply rail while actively ORing two input sources — that is low enough to sit on a battery bus without measurable drain, so the controller itself does not force a sleep-mode trade-off. Supply range is 1.6 V to 5.5 V, covering single-cell Li-ion through 3.3 V and 5 V regulated rails without an external LDO. The internal N-Channel MOSFET is rated for 2.5 A continuous output — the die in the SOT-583 handles the conduction loss at that current, but the board copper and ambient temperature set the practical derating.
N+1 redundancy without an external FET
The LM66200DRLR integrates the ORing MOSFET and control logic in a single SOT-583 package, so a two-input N+1 redundant supply needs just this one IC per rail — no external pass FET, no separate gate driver. The 2:1 input-to-output ratio means it ORs two supply inputs to one output; the controller selects the higher-voltage input and switches the lower one off, blocking reverse current from the output back into the inactive supply. Operating temperature range is -40°C to 125°C ambient — the junction sees additional self-heating from the 2.5 A load, so the thermal impedance of the SOT-583 board footprint determines the safe current at the high end of the range.
