Switching frequency and thermal envelope

Switching frequency is programmable from 50 kHz to 500 kHz via a single resistor. Lower frequencies reduce switching losses at light load; higher frequencies shrink the inductor and output capacitor footprint at the cost of increased FET dissipation. No synchronous rectifier — the external catch diode handles the low-side current, which simplifies the layout but adds a diode forward-drop loss that matters most at high duty cycles.
