It operates from a 9V to 80V supply range, suiting it for 12V, 24V, and 48V telecom, industrial, and automotive power distribution systems. The controller drives an external N-channel MOSFET — no internal switch — so the pass element and its heatsinking are sized separately for the load current. The 1.3 mA supply current is drawn from the input rail and is independent of the load.

Programmable protection and auto-retry behaviour

Four programmable protection thresholds are set with external resistors: current limit, fault timeout, overvoltage protection (OVP), and undervoltage lockout (UVLO). The -2 variant implements an auto-retry cycle after a fault timeout — the controller attempts to restart after a cooling period, which is useful for transient overloads that clear themselves. The 10-VSSOP package (3.00 mm × 3.00 mm body) is a surface-mount footprint compatible with standard reflow profiles.
