N+1 ORing controller for redundant power buses
The Texas Instruments LM5050Q1MK-1/NOPB is an N+1 ORing controller that drives an external N-channel MOSFET. It handles supply voltages from 5V to 75V. The controller draws 130 µA of supply current. Because it contains no internal switch, the designer selects the external N-channel FET to match the load current and thermal budget — a common approach that keeps the controller small (SOT-23-THIN) while the FET handles the heavy lifting. The 486 ns turn-off delay is fast enough to prevent reverse-current surges during a supply dropout or short-circuit on one input leg.
This part is AEC-Q100 qualified. The lifecycle status is Active, so there is no end-of-life or last-time-buy pressure. The ROHS3 compliance covers the latest EU restriction requirements, so no exemption expiry to track.
Housed in a SOT-23-THIN surface-mount package, the controller occupies minimal board area. The supplier device package is SOT-23-THIN.
