8-SOIC mono audio amp with depop and thermal protection
The LM4991MA/NOPB is a Texas Instruments Boomer® series Class AB audio amplifier delivering 1.5W into an 8Ω load from a single mono channel. Supply voltage spans 2.2V to 5.5V, covering single-cell Li-Ion through 5V logic rails. On-chip depop circuitry suppresses turn-on/turn-off clicks, and the shutdown pin lets a microcontroller gate the amplifier current to near-zero when the audio channel is idle. Thermal protection folds back output drive if the die temperature exceeds the safe operating limit, protecting the speaker load and the amplifier itself during a sustained fault.
