8-WQFN package, 2x2 mm — what it demands of the board
The LM4923LQX/NOPB comes in an 8-WQFN with exposed pad, supplier device package 8-WQFN (2x2). The pad under the package is the thermal path — the board's copper plane and vias sink the heat from the 1.1 W output into the load. Supply range is 2.4 V to 5.5 V, so it runs off a single Li-ion cell or a 3.3 V / 5 V rail without a separate regulator. The shutdown pin lets the microcontroller cut the 1.6 mA quiescent draw when the speaker is idle.
1.1 W into 8 Ω — what that means for the BOM
Rated 1.1 W x 1 channel into 8 Ω — that is the continuous output before clipping into a typical 8 Ω speaker. The differential inputs reject common-mode noise picked up on the audio traces between the codec and the amplifier, which saves a ground-plane split on a two-layer board. Operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C, industrial grade. The Class AB topology keeps the output stage linear across the full swing, so the THD stays low at moderate volume — no crossover notch at low signal levels.
Active production — sourcing posture
Texas Instruments lists the LM4923LQX/NOPB as Active.
