What this Boomer® stereo amp delivers
The Texas Instruments LM4808MM/NOPB is a Class AB stereo headphone amplifier from the Boomer® series, delivering 150mW per channel into a 16Ω load. The 8-VSSOP package keeps the board footprint small, and the depop feature suppresses turn-on clicks that would otherwise annoy the listener.
The 150mW per channel into 16Ω is enough to drive most consumer headphones to a comfortable listening level; if you are driving higher-impedance loads like 32Ω headphones, expect roughly half the power — still adequate for portable use. The Class AB topology gives clean audio with low crossover distortion, which matters for headphone outputs where the listener is close to the speaker.
Package and storage note
The LM4808MM/NOPB comes in an 8-VSSOP package (3.00mm width), surface-mount only.
Lifecycle and sourcing
The Boomer® series has been around for years, so second-source options are limited — this is a single-source part from TI, but the active status means no near-term supply risk.
