The Texas Instruments LM48861TM/NOPB is a Class AB stereo headphone amplifier in the Boomer® and PowerWise® series, delivering 24mW per channel into a 16Ω load. The 12-DSBGA package (12-WFBGA, DSBGA) keeps the footprint small, but the 0.5mm ball pitch means it is not a field-swap part without a hot-air station and a microscope.

24mW x 2 into 16Ω is the headline output — enough to drive earbuds or low-impedance headphones to reasonable listening levels. The Class AB topology keeps crossover distortion low, so the audio quality at low volume is cleaner than a Class D amp of similar power. The Depop feature eliminates the audible pop when the amplifier is enabled or disabled, which matters for battery-powered devices where the amp is frequently shut down to save power. The Shutdown pin pulls the quiescent current to near-zero, extending standby time.
