Depop, shutdown, and thermal protection
Built-in depop circuitry suppresses click and pop noise during power-up and shutdown transitions, eliminating the need for external muting FETs or series resistors on the output. The shutdown pin lets a GPIO or power-management IC put the amplifier into a low-current state when audio is idle. Thermal protection folds back output current if the die exceeds safe junction temperature — useful in compact enclosures with limited airflow.
Temperature grade and environment
Rated for -40°C to 85°C ambient, the LM4879ITPX/NOPB is suitable for outdoor telecom, industrial control panels, and automotive cabin audio where the environment stays above the under-hood range. The 8-µSMD package is not hermetically sealed; conformal coating is recommended if condensation or dust is present.
Lifecycle and sourcing posture
The LM4879ITPX/NOPB carries an Active lifecycle status and is ROHS3 compliant. This part is sourced and quoted to order through independent distribution; availability and current pricing are confirmed at quote time.
