Thermal protection and shutdown
Built-in thermal protection shuts down the output stage if the die temperature exceeds the safe limit, protecting the amplifier and the speaker load during a fault. The shutdown pin (active-low) allows the system controller to force the amplifier into a low-power state. Mount the 8-SOIC with adequate copper pour on the PCB pads for heat spreading — the package relies on the board copper for thermal dissipation, not an external heatsink.
