The LM48510SD/NOPB: Differential inputs reject ground noise picked up over long input traces — useful when the amp sits on a separate PCB from the audio source. The PWM modulation scheme, combined with depop circuitry, suppresses the turn-on thump that otherwise sends a DC transient to the speaker. Short-circuit and thermal protection mean the part shuts itself down before the scorch mark appears; you can probe the output for a dead short without killing the chip first. Shutdown pin lets a microcontroller or GPIO line put the amp into a low-current sleep state.
Temperature range and environment
Rated for -40°C to 85°C ambient, so it handles outdoor telecom enclosures, automotive cabin gear, and factory-floor audio alerts without derating. The exposed pad needs a solid thermal via pattern to the ground plane — skip that and the protection loop trips early on a warm day.
