Key features and what they mean for the BOM
Industrial temperature range (-40°C to 85°C) qualifies it for outdoor or automotive-cabin audio — not just consumer gear. The Depop feature suppresses turn-on/turn-off clicks, and the E²S (Enhanced Edge Shutdown) reduces pop noise during shutdown transitions. Differential inputs reject common-mode noise from the audio source or ground loops — useful when the amplifier sits on a separate board from the codec or DAC. Short-circuit protection and thermal shutdown are built in. The 9-DSBGA package requires careful PCB layout.
If you're cross-shopping this part for a BOM freeze or second-source qualification, note that the 9-DSBGA footprint is unique to this package variant. There is no pin-compatible alternative in a larger package — the trade-off is board space vs. ease of rework. For volume builds, confirm with TI that the 9-DSBGA is still preferred for your assembly house's capability.
