Class AB stereo amplifier for portable audio
The Texas Instruments LM4811MMX/NOPB is a Boomer® series Class AB stereo headphone amplifier delivering 105 mW per channel into a 16 Ω load. Integrated features — depop circuitry, shutdown, thermal protection, and volume control — reduce external component count and simplify the audio path.
105 mW per channel — what it means for headphone selection
With 105 mW per channel into 16 Ω, the LM4811MMX/NOPB can drive typical portable headphones (16 Ω to 32 Ω) to adequate listening levels without external gain stages. For lower-impedance loads (e.g., 8 Ω earbuds), the output current limit will reduce available power; check the load line against your target SPL. The 2 V minimum supply ensures operation from a nearly depleted Li-ion cell (3.0 V nominal, down to 2.7 V cutoff) without dropout.
Active production — no obsolescence watch needed
ROHS3 compliant.
10-VSSOP package — footprint and layout notes
The small package suits space-constrained PCBs in portable products. Supply decoupling with 1 µF ceramic close to the supply pin is recommended; the shutdown pin can be tied to a GPIO for power-save control.
