Key ratings and what they mean for the BOM
The I²C volume control and input multiplexer let the system MCU set gain and route one of two audio sources without external pots or analog switches — saves board space and BOM cost. Depop circuitry suppresses the click and pop on power-up and shutdown, which matters for customer-facing audio in a car cabin.
Package and mounting
The 14-HTSSOP package (4.40 mm width, exposed pad) requires a thermal land on the PCB — the exposed pad must be soldered to a copper plane for the 1.6W dissipation. Surface-mount assembly; the tape-and-reel option suits automated pick-and-place. The 0.173-inch body pitch is standard for TSSOP, so no special stencil or reflow profile needed beyond the usual for that family.
