What the 150 mW per channel means for your headphone driver design
The Texas Instruments LM4808MMX/NOPB is a Boomer® series Class AB stereo headphone amplifier in an 8-VSSOP package. It delivers 150 mW per channel into a 16 Ω load, which is enough output to drive most consumer and portable headphones to comfortable listening levels without an external buffer.
Depop feature — why it matters for pop-free turn-on
The LM4808MMX/NOPB includes a Depop feature that suppresses the audible pop and click during power-up and power-down. In portable designs where the amplifier is switched on and off frequently (e.g., by a headphone detect circuit), this saves the BOM the cost of an external muting relay or a dedicated soft-start capacitor on the output.
The NOPB suffix confirms lead-free / RoHS3 plating.
