2.5V precision anchor for ADC and DAC reference rails
The LM4132CMF-2.5/NOPB: This level of tolerance means the reference voltage at the output pin is guaranteed within 5 mV of 2.5 V at 25 °C — tight enough to preserve the full-scale accuracy of a 12-bit ADC without external trimming. The 20 mA output current capability is enough to bias multiple downstream loads — a reference buffer, an ADC reference input, and a small sensor bridge — all from one device.
This is the flicker-noise corner that matters for DC-coupled measurements — a load-cell amplifier with a 1000× gain sees 240 mV of peak-to-peak noise at the output from the reference alone, so a post-filter or a lower-noise reference is needed for microvolt-level sensing.
SOT-23-5 footprint and supply current
Housed in a 5-pin SOT-23 (SC-74A) package, the LM4132CMF-2.5/NOPB occupies roughly 3 mm × 3 mm of board area. The supply current is 100 µA quiescent — low enough to keep the reference powered continuously in a battery-operated data logger without draining the cell during sleep intervals.
