2.5 V shunt reference — the parametric anchor

The LM4050CEM3-2.5/NOPB: The shunt topology means it needs no separate supply rail — just a bias resistor from the positive rail to the cathode pin. The minimum cathode current is 65 µA, so the resistor must be sized to deliver at least that plus the load current at the lowest input voltage. Output current capability is 15 mA maximum, which covers most ADC reference inputs and op-amp bias networks without an external buffer.

Noise floor and signal-chain fit

The SOT-23-3 package (TO-236-3 / SC-59 compatible) keeps the footprint small for portable or multi-channel designs where board space is tight.
