Adjustable shunt reference for precision bias and threshold nodes
The ±1% tolerance holds the setpoint tight enough for an 8-bit ADC reference or a comparator threshold without trimming.
What the ±1% tolerance buys you
A ±1% initial accuracy on a 2.5 V setpoint means the output stays within 25 mV of target at 25°C. The 150 ppm/°C temperature coefficient adds about 0.375 mV drift over a 25°C to 85°C swing — acceptable for a 12-bit ADC reference if the full-scale error budget has room.
Cathode current and output drive
The shunt regulator sinks up to 12 mA continuous output current, with a minimum cathode current of 80 µA to maintain regulation. That 80 µA floor means the external resistor from the supply to the cathode must be sized to deliver at least 80 µA at the lowest supply voltage and highest load current.
Housed in a 5-lead SC-70-5 (SOT-353) package — a tight footprint that fits on a two-layer board with a via under the pad for the cathode connection.
