The LM4041DEM3X-1.2 is a precision shunt voltage reference from Texas Instruments, delivering a fixed 1.225V output with ±1% initial tolerance. It operates as a two-terminal shunt regulator — the same topology as a Zener diode but with much tighter regulation and lower temperature drift. The 73 µA cathode current lets the reference regulate at very low bias, useful in battery-powered or power-sensitive analog front-ends where every microamp counts. Output current is rated 12 mA, enough to bias a resistor divider or supply a small ADC reference input.
The 150 ppm/°C temperature coefficient means the output shifts about 0.18 mV over the full range — acceptable for 8-bit to 10-bit accuracy but marginal for 12-bit systems without calibration.
