Shunt reference for precision analog rails
It delivers a stable reference voltage adjustable from 1.233 V up to 10 V with a tolerance of ±0.5%. The shunt architecture means it behaves like a precision Zener diode — it regulates by shunting current through the cathode, with a minimum cathode current of 80 µA and a maximum output current of 12 mA. This part is aimed at precision analog circuits where a low-cost, low-drift reference is needed: ADC/DAC reference inputs, comparator thresholds, and power-supply monitoring in industrial control, automotive electronics, and portable instrumentation.
Setting the output voltage — resistor divider math
The output voltage is set by two external resistors between the cathode and the reference pin. The internal reference voltage is 1.233 V.
No external capacitor needed — shunt topology advantage
A shunt reference is inherently stable without an external output capacitor. The LM4041CQDBZR does not require one for stability.
