Adjustable shunt reference — 1.233 V to 10 V output window
Its output is set anywhere between 1.233 V minimum and 10 V maximum using two external resistors, making it a flexible building block for bias rails, ADC references, and comparator thresholds across industrial and automotive systems.
±0.5 % tolerance and 20 µVrms noise floor
Initial output tolerance is ±0.5 %. The 20 µVrms noise over 10 Hz to 10 kHz is low enough for a 12-bit ADC reference rail.
Existing production runs still source through independent distribution, but new BOMs should evaluate the active LM4041 variants in the same SOT-23-3 footprint.
That covers outdoor telecom cabinets, engine-bay electronics, and factory-floor sensor modules without a derating step.
Shunt topology — 68 µA cathode current, 12 mA output
As a shunt reference, it sinks current from the supply through a series resistor. Maximum output current is 12 mA, enough to drive a handful of op-amp inputs or a low-power ADC reference input without a buffer.
SOT-23-3 — small footprint, Tape & Reel delivery
Housed in the SOT-23-3 (TO-236-3 / SC-59) surface-mount package, it occupies roughly 3 mm × 3 mm of board area. Supplied in Tape & Reel, it suits automated pick-and-place assembly for medium-to-high volume production.
