2.5 V shunt reference in a SOT-23-3 package
It operates as a two-terminal shunt (like a Zener), requiring only a cathode resistor from the supply rail — no external bypass capacitor needed for stability. The 80 µA cathode current floor lets it run from a low-power bias, while the 15 mA output capability can source enough current to bias multiple ADC inputs or a comparator threshold divider.
Temperature drift and noise floor
The 35 µVrms noise (10 Hz to 10 kHz) is low enough that it won't dominate the ADC's SNR in most industrial signal chains; if your application needs sub-10 µV noise, step up to the LM4040A25 (higher grade, lower drift).
