Fixed 5V shunt reference in a SOT-23-3
It comes in a surface-mount SOT-23-3 package (also listed as TO-236-3 / SC-59) and is designed for applications requiring a stable, low-noise reference voltage over a wide temperature range.
The fixed 5V output is the exact voltage your ADC reference or regulator feedback divider sees — no external resistor divider needed. The ±0.5% tolerance sets the system accuracy floor. Output current is rated at 15 mA — this reference can bias multiple op-amp stages or a small load directly. The cathode current of 95 µA is the minimum current needed to maintain regulation; below that the output voltage drifts. In a battery-powered design, that 95 µA quiescent draw is a factor in the sleep-mode budget. The temperature coefficient is 100 ppm/°C, so the output shifts about 0.5 mV per °C — budget that drift in your system error analysis. Noise from 10 Hz to 10 kHz is 80 µVrms — low enough for a 12-bit ADC on a 5V reference without external filtering in most cases. For higher-resolution converters, a small bypass cap at the output pin knocks down the wideband noise further.
