80 MHz Cortex-M3 with Ethernet and CAN — what it delivers
The TI LM3S9B96-IQC80-C1 is a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M3 MCU from the Stellaris® 9000 series, clocked at 80 MHz with 256 KB Flash and 96 KB SRAM. It integrates Ethernet MAC+PHY, USB OTG, and CANbus alongside 65 I/O lines.
Obsolete — sourcing reality for this Stellaris MCU
TI does not list an official second source or a direct pin-compatible successor for the LM3S9B96-IQC80-C1. The Stellaris family was acquired with TI's purchase of Luminary Micro and has no factory-recommended cross. Any replacement would require a board redesign — pinout, voltage domain, and peripheral set differ across Cortex-M3 vendors. If dual-sourcing is critical, the buyer should evaluate the entire Stellaris 9000 series for density variants (same footprint, different Flash/RAM), but none is a production-status alternative.
