Peripheral set and memory — sizing the BOM
The LM3S9B92-IQC80-C3: The 96 KB SRAM handles two Ethernet frames (about 3 KB each) plus the USB buffer and leaves room for real-time data. On-chip peripherals include a 16-channel 10-bit ADC, PWM outputs, a quadrature encoder interface (QEI) for motor feedback, and a DMA controller that offloads the core during high-throughput transfers.
Texas Instruments no longer manufactures this Stellaris-series part, and no official direct replacement has been listed.
Supply voltage is a narrow 1.235 V to 1.365 V core rail, so the board needs a dedicated low-noise regulator; the I/O bank runs from a separate 3.3 V supply.
