The LM3S9792-IQC80-C5: The LM3S9792 is a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller from the Stellaris series, clocked at 80 MHz.
The 80 MHz clock rate sets the timing budget for control loops running at tens of kilohertz and for protocol stacks like TCP/IP or CANopen without external PHY bottlenecks. 128 KB Flash is enough for moderate-complexity firmware — a bootloader, a real-time kernel, and a few protocol stacks — but not for a full embedded Linux or heavy GUI. The 64 KB RAM supports moderate data buffering; designs needing larger packet buffers or multiple frame stores should budget for external SRAM via the EBI/EMI interface.
Housed in a 100-LQFP (14x14 mm) surface-mount package, with 65 general-purpose I/O.
