The LM3S8962-EQC50-A2T is a Stellaris ARM Cortex-M3 MCU from Texas Instruments, built around a 32-bit single-core processor running at 50 MHz.
The 256 KB Flash is sized to hold a TCP/IP stack plus a real-time control loop, while the 64 KB SRAM provides enough buffer space for Ethernet frames and CAN message objects. If your firmware image already exceeds 256 KB, this part will not fit without code compression or external memory — plan accordingly.

The integrated Ethernet MAC and CAN 2.0 controller are the features that set this MCU apart from simpler Stellaris siblings. The 42 GPIOs and four 10-bit ADC channels round out the peripheral set for sensor and actuator control.
