Texas Instruments has marked the LM3S828-EQN50-C2T as Obsolete. For existing BOM lines, procurement must turn to independent distribution or surplus inventory to fill orders.
Core and memory for control-loop tasks
It packs 64 KB of flash and 8 KB of SRAM — enough for a modest control loop or sensor fusion algorithm without external memory. The 28 general-purpose I/O lines handle parallel sensor inputs or actuator outputs in a compact footprint.
Housed in a 48-LQFP package with a 7x7 mm body, this is a hand-solderable QFP — no hot-air rework station required. Surface-mount assembly means it fits standard reflow profiles; the exposed pad on the LQFP variant (if present) aids thermal dissipation.
Peripherals and connectivity
On-chip peripherals include a brown-out detect, POR, PWM, and watchdog timer — enough for a self-contained controller without external supervisor ICs. Connectivity covers I²C, SPI, SSI, Microwire, and UART/USART, so it can talk to common sensors, displays, or a host processor over a serial link. The 8-channel 10-bit ADC reads analog signals directly, saving an external converter.
