Core and memory budget
The LM3S6G11-IQC80-A1T is a Stellaris-series ARM Cortex-M3 running at 80 MHz — the 32-bit single-core pipeline delivers enough throughput for a real-time control loop plus an Ethernet protocol stack without a separate network coprocessor. On-chip memory is 512 KB Flash for the application image and 64 KB SRAM for the runtime heap and stack.
Peripheral set for industrial connectivity
Ethernet MAC is integrated on-die, along with I²C, SPI, SSI, UART/USART, LINbus, IrDA, and Microwire serial interfaces. A single chip handles both the fieldbus bridge and the local sensor/actuator network — no external UART-to-Ethernet converter needed. The internal oscillator eliminates the external crystal in cost-sensitive builds where timing accuracy within the internal spec is acceptable.
Package, supply, and temperature grade
Housed in a 100-LQFP with a 14x14 mm body — the 0.5 mm pitch is hand-solderable with a fine tip and reflow-compatible with standard lead-free profiles.
Lifecycle and sourcing posture
The part is design-in safe for new BOMs and supported through the standard TI distribution channel.
