Ethernet, 46 GPIOs, and a full peripheral set in a 10x10 mm BGA
Beyond Ethernet, the connectivity list includes I²C, IrDA, Microwire, QEI (quadrature encoder interface for motor position feedback), SPI, SSI, and multiple UART/USART channels — enough to handle a sensor hub or a simple HMI panel. The 46 I/O lines come in a 108-ball BGA package measuring 10x10 mm, which saves board area compared to an LQFP but requires careful PCB layout and X-ray inspection for solder-joint verification. Internal oscillator support reduces external BOM count, though the Ethernet PHY still needs an external transceiver and magnetics.
