End-of-life — sourcing reality for the BOM line
Memory and I/O — sizing the firmware and the board
32 KB of Flash and 8 KB of RAM define the firmware footprint and data buffer ceiling. For a typical Modbus RTU gateway or a simple PID loop with a local display, that is enough headroom. The 28 GPIOs, combined with the serial peripherals, cover a moderate sensor array or a keypad-plus-LCD interface without an external port expander.
ADC and peripherals — analog input without an external converter
The 8-channel 10-bit ADC reads analog signals. The internal oscillator eliminates the need for an external crystal.
