The 50 MHz core, combined with the Cortex-M3's single-cycle multiply and hardware divide, gives enough headroom for real-time PID loops and protocol handling without an external DSP. The 8 KB SRAM is the tighter resource — it limits the data buffer for communications stacks (e.g., a full TCP/IP stack is impractical) and constrains the call stack depth for complex interrupt-driven code. Designs that need larger packet buffers or multiple large lookup tables will hit the SRAM ceiling quickly.
