Core and memory — what fits the BOM
ARM Cortex-M3 core running at 50 MHz — the 32-bit single-core architecture delivers deterministic interrupt response for real-time control loops. The 32 KB on-chip Flash (32K x 8) and 8K x 8 SRAM suit moderate-complexity firmware: a bootloader, a scheduler, and a few peripheral drivers fit without external memory. The internal oscillator eliminates the external crystal for basic timing, though an external clock source can be used through the oscillator input.
Peripherals and I/O — control-loop fit
36 general-purpose I/O lines in the 48-LQFP package. On-chip peripherals include a PWM generator, watchdog timer, brown-out detect, and POR — enough for a motor-control or sensor-interface node without external supervisor ICs.
