What this Stellaris Cortex-M3 MCU brings to a control design
The LM3S5651-IQC80-C1: It carries 128 KB of program Flash and 32 K x 8 of SRAM — enough for a moderate control stack with a CANopen or USB device profile running alongside the main loop. The peripheral set includes CAN, USB OTG, I2C, SPI, SSI, UART, LIN, and IrDA, plus a 16-channel 10-bit ADC, PWM timers, and a quadrature encoder interface for motor-feedback loops.
The 80 MHz core clock runs at the speed listed in the spec table.
