What this Cortex-M3 brings to the board
The peripheral set includes USB, UART, I2C, SPI, SSI, IrDA, Microwire, QEI, and an 8-channel 10-bit ADC, plus a PWM module and DMA — enough to handle a motor-control loop, a human-machine interface, or a sensor hub without external glue logic.
At 50 MHz the Cortex-M3 can execute a single-cycle multiply and a hardware divide, so a PID loop with 16-bit coefficients runs comfortably under 10 µs. The 64 KB SRAM leaves room for a double-buffered USB endpoint pool and a modest real-time OS heap.
