The Texas Instruments (formerly Luminary Micro) LM3S2918-IQC50-A2T is a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller from the Stellaris® 2000 series, clocked at 50 MHz. The 100-pin LQFP package (14x14 mm) provides 52 general-purpose I/O lines plus an 8-channel 10-bit ADC. Operating from 2.25 V to 2.75 V across -40°C to 85°C, it fits into environments from factory floors to outdoor telecom cabinets.
The 64 KB of SRAM gives enough headroom for a modest RTOS heap and a few protocol stacks (CANopen, Modbus RTU over UART) without hitting swap. If your algorithm needs sustained throughput above 50 MHz or more than 64 KB of working RAM, you are looking at the wrong part.
