50MHz Cortex-M3 with 128KB Flash
The 128KB on-chip flash and 64KB SRAM provide enough headroom for a moderate control stack and data buffer — the 64K x 8 RAM is the limiting factor for large frame buffers or multi-instance protocol stacks. Supply voltage is 2.25V to 2.75V — a single 2.5V rail powers the core and I/O, simplifying the power tree.
The peripheral mix includes CANbus, IrDA, Microwire, SPI, SSI, and UART/USART — the CAN interface makes this part a natural fit for industrial automation backplanes or mobile equipment control nodes where a CANopen or J1939 link is required. On-chip peripherals also include brown-out detect, DMA, POR, PWM, and a watchdog timer. The internal oscillator saves an external crystal for applications that can tolerate the ±1-2% accuracy of the on-chip RC — serial bootloading or CAN timing may still need an external clock source.
