The LM3S2637-IQC50-A2: On-chip memory includes 128 KB of Flash and 32 KB of SRAM, which is enough to run a real-time control loop with a moderate protocol stack. The 46 general-purpose I/O lines and the integrated CAN, I²C, SPI, UART, and IrDA interfaces let it handle mixed-fieldbus gateways or motor-drive control panels without external transceivers for the low-speed links.
