For a production BOM already qualified on the LM3S2432, the immediate action is to secure last-time-buy quantities through the independent channel. For a new board, the Stellaris family has been superseded by TI's Tiva C Series and later Cortex-M4F parts — but those are not pin-compatible, so a migration involves a PCB spin.

TI has no direct pin-compatible replacement within the Stellaris family. The Tiva C Series (TM4C123x) offers a Cortex-M4F core with more memory and peripherals, but requires a PCB redesign due to different pinout and supply voltage. For a drop-in functional equivalent within the same package and voltage, the LM3S2xxx series siblings with matching memory and peripheral sets are the closest cross-shoppable options, though all are NRND.
The core runs at 50 MHz. At this clock rate, the Cortex-M3 delivers 1.25 DMIPS/MHz, so about 62.5 DMIPS of integer throughput — adequate for real-time control loops and moderate protocol processing.
