Texas Instruments has marked the LM3S2410-EQC25-A2 as Obsolete. For existing BOM lines, the available stock is held in independent surplus channels; quantities are lot-specific and confirmed at RFQ. No second-source cross-reference exists from the original manufacturer.
Cortex-M3 at 25 MHz — control-loop ceiling
The ARM Cortex-M3 core runs at 25 MHz, delivering around 25 DMIPS — enough for a single-loop motor controller or a CAN gateway aggregating sensor data at 1 ms intervals. The 96 KB on-chip Flash and 32 KB SRAM leave room for a lightweight RTOS plus a CANopen stack; with the HAL and stack footprint, expect about 20 KB free for the application heap. The 60 I/O pins break out to the 100-LQFP package, so a 4-layer board is sufficient for fan-out — the 0.50 mm pitch does not force an HDI stack-up.
Connectivity and peripherals
On-chip connectivity includes CANbus, IrDA, Microwire, SPI, SSI, and UART/USART — the CAN 2.0B controller handles the physical layer for industrial fieldbus; the SPI and UART ports interface to external ADCs, displays, or radio modules. Peripherals include brown-out detect, POR, PWM, and a watchdog timer — the PWM outputs can drive a three-phase inverter directly if the dead-time is handled in firmware, and the brown-out reset prevents corrupt Flash writes during a supply dip.
