80 MHz Cortex-M3 with 256 KB Flash
The ARM Cortex-M3 core runs at 80 MHz, placing it in the mid-range of the Stellaris 1000 series for throughput. The 256 KB on-chip flash and 48 K x 8 SRAM provide enough headroom for a real-time control stack with moderate data logging — the flash holds the application and bootloader, while the SRAM covers the stack and heap for a typical RTOS deployment. Connectivity includes EBI/EMI, I²C, IrDA, LINbus, Microwire, SPI, SSI, and UART/USART — a broad set for industrial fieldbus bridging or sensor aggregation. The 67 I/O lines in the 100-LQFP package give the layout engineer flexibility to route peripheral signals without forcing a larger package.
