The 80 MHz ARM Cortex-M3 core delivers enough throughput for real-time control loops, protocol stacks, and moderate DSP tasks. At this clock rate, a single-cycle multiply and hardware divide keep interrupt latency predictable — useful for PWM generation and motor commutation. The 48 KB SRAM is tight for heavy graphics buffers, but pairs well with the external bus interface (EBI/EMI) for off-chip memory expansion if needed.
That means it can talk to serial sensors, CAN transceivers, external SRAM/Flash, and parallel LCDs without glue logic. The eight 12-bit ADC channels handle analog feedback from current sensors or potentiometers.
