Core and memory headroom
Built around the ARM Cortex-M3 core clocked at 50 MHz, this 32-bit single-core MCU delivers 256 KB of on-chip Flash and 64K x 8 of SRAM. The 64K x 8 SRAM handles the runtime heap and stack; a firmware engineer should budget the linker script to avoid fragmentation in the 64 KB window.
The part exposes 52 general-purpose I/O lines and a rich peripheral set: I²C, IrDA, Microwire, SPI, SSI, and UART/USART for serial connectivity; an 8-channel 10-bit A/D converter; and on-chip brown-out detect, POR, PWM, and a watchdog timer.
