Cortex-M3 at 50 MHz — memory and peripheral fit
The ARM Cortex-M3 core runs at 50 MHz — this is the CPU clock ceiling; actual throughput depends on flash wait-state configuration and code execution from RAM. The 128 KB on-chip Flash and 32K x 8 SRAM provide enough headroom for a modest RTOS plus application stack, with the SRAM handling time-critical interrupt vectors. Connectivity covers I²C, SPI, SSI, UART/USART, IrDA, Microwire, and QEI — enough serial interfaces for sensor fusion or motor-feedback loops without external bridge chips. The 33 GPIOs and 4-channel 10-bit ADC serve mixed-signal control applications. Supply voltage is 2.25 V to 2.75 V — a single 2.5 V rail powers the core and I/O, simplifying the power tree.
64-LQFP — board integration notes
Housed in a 64-LQFP with a 10x10 mm body (EIAJ standard), the package has a 0.5 mm pitch that typically requires a 4-layer PCB for clean fan-out of the peripheral signals. The exposed pad on the underside provides a low-thermal-resistance path to the ground plane — ensure the pad is soldered to the board copper for rated junction-to-ambient performance.
